Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and account information — such as your email address if you join a waitlist, contact us, or create an account when accounts become available.
- Usage and device information — such as app version, device type, operating system, general diagnostics, and in-app events needed to run and improve the Services (for example, lesson progress or crashes).
- Audio or voice inputs — only if and when you use features that explicitly request the microphone, and only as needed to provide those features. We will describe any voice processing clearly in the app before you use it.
- Support communications — information you send when you email us or otherwise request help.
We do not require sensitive categories of data (such as health data) to use PhraseBoost. Please do not send us sensitive information unless we ask for it.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Communicate with you about updates, waitlists, and support;
- Monitor reliability and security, and detect abuse;
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support, or similar functions, subject to confidentiality obligations;
- Legal or safety recipients when we believe disclosure is required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly defined in U.S. state privacy laws.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in line with our practices at the time.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Children
PhraseBoost is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International users
If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes before the app is widely available, we may also notify you by email or in-app message where appropriate.
